This was a huge step for the paper, as its natively run news app was a complete unknown to both the user and company. The aim was to attract a new audience and compete with modern news on mobiles. We looked at re-designing the stlye of the paper for mobile consumption, using bold imagery and strong colour schemes. This was a year long project, and along with extensive user testing and wireframing, I was involved in providing design content for the on-going updates and advetising the launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"586\" src=\"http:\/\/theandybooth.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/image-1024x586.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1160\" srcset=\"http:\/\/theandybooth.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/image-1024x586.png 1024w, http:\/\/theandybooth.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/image-300x172.png 300w, http:\/\/theandybooth.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/image-768x440.png 768w, http:\/\/theandybooth.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/image-500x286.png 500w, http:\/\/theandybooth.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/image-800x458.png 800w, http:\/\/theandybooth.com\/portfolio\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/image.png 1170w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Along with this, I created base template cards, which can be populated with news stories in different styles, such a bold background with a tinted photo.
